Why Int'l Business & Logistics?
The Master of Science degree programs at Loeb-Sullivan School prepare recent college graduates and individuals seeking a mid-career change for a rewarding career in global supply chain logistics and related fields. A baccalaureate degree in business is not a pre-requisite. Graduate students pursue their studies at a level that requires a significant investment of energy, thought and preparation. This will lead to personal growth in their managerial and leadership skills. Students will demonstrate their ability to gather, apply, analyze, synthesize, and critically evaluate current theories and knowledge claims by addressing specific real-world problems. These skill sets will be used to complete an integrative Capstone project for their field of specialization. The majority of course credit is earned in seminar format classes on the beautiful campus we share with Maine Maritime Academy. Approved courses from distance learning programs will be accepted to a maximum of six credits.
Executive education courses may become available as scheduling permits; please see the "News" section of this web site or contact the Loeb-Sullivan School for further details.
The Global Supply Chain Logistics (GSCL) program prepares students for the challenges of managing global supply chains. It encompasses the ability to study, analyze, and evaluate the flow of goods, customer services, finances, and information from the supplier's suppliers to the ultimate consumer. There is an emphasis on new concepts and theories for global marketing and sourcing, inventory, distribution, and transportation management, and the supporting economics and finance/accounting. Students study supply chain management as a management philosophy as well as a set of processes involved in optimizing the supply chain. Graduates of the program are prepared to contribute strategic and organizational efforts toward effective supply chain management and customer satisfaction.
The Maritime Management (MM) program prepares students for strategic as well as operational management in the maritime sector. The curriculum integrates managerial disciplines within maritime economic, social, political, and legal environments as well as within the broader concept of transportation logistics management. Students are grounded in general management capability while gaining specialized knowledge of the sector to effectively lead maritime organizations involved in shipping and related operations and management.
